The Feather (Glass)

The Feather (Glass)

SKU:AUPV822

Individually crafted using bohemian glass making techniques by highly skilled artisans in the Czech Republic. Comes with satin bag to hold cremains. How it is made: When the glassblower has the glass still hot on a pipe, another glass blower lays about one hundred of 10 cm long white thin glass rods next to each other. Another glass blower takes a v-shape metal hook and pulls them from right to left through the middle. This creates the effect of the feather. Then, the master glass blower finishes the urn to its final shape, by reheating the glass several times in the furnace and blowing more air through the pipe into the glass.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right size urn?

Urns are sized based on volume - measured in litres - to hold the ashes after cremation.

As a general guide:

  • Adults, you’ll want an urn that holds at least 2.6 litres
  • Children, aim for around 1–2 litres depending on age and weight.
  • Infants, urns with up to 500ml capacity are usually sufficient.

What’s the difference between a full-size urn and a keepsake urn?

A full-size urn is designed to hold all of one person’s ashes. Keepsake urns are smaller — made to hold just a portion. These are ideal for families sharing ashes or keeping a small amount alongside scattering.

Can I use your urns for scattering ashes?

Yes - we offer scattering tubes that are specifically designed for that purpose. They are lightweight, biodegradable, and easy to use.

Do I need to transfer the ashes myself?

That depends. Funeral homes and crematoriums can usually help with transferring ashes. Many of our urns also allow you to place the ashes (in the temporary container they come in) with no decanting necessary.
